Superpowers

Flashing them hypnotizing sparklers across your lurid cape,
with one huge eye left to govern it all from upon grand highs,
as we don’t really need what you convey since it’s an illusion,
spying through glasses blinding them roses above one end,
and hopelessly deserted earth frosting thickly on the other rim.

Our combined weight drenches rubble in formidable cities,
no thanks by the glances we’ve allowed so far to your hands,
among the smothering dust from pulverized jagged tablets,
rising past their gathering aircraft with blades claiming heads,
before your twisted throne made out of animal bone and flesh.

Their lone nickel sliding down the grate winks to us knowingly,
while happiness and love become even cheaper in its grasp,
dreaming in our spare time keeping the building of your pyramid,
selected from an epidemic of blocks ill-mannered for construction,
trapping any stray proposals under a graving dock near their ocean.

Hard nuts crushed wide on a shaking metal plate,
what seemed completely impenetrable for decades,
now being severely pitted with every brash whack,
searching in fields and trees to make up the surplus,
to create their heavenly powder of stark emptiness.

Weapons in the many thousands stored exactly to never be implemented,
more afraid of what we started than to think about their awful meaning,
stretched on your back watching the television for a change in procedure,
dredging the mistaken ancients of switches laid over our ascending noses,
immersed beneath spittle from an unforgettable kiss ordered to trick us.
